| For anyone not aware this Fri night the Under 23s play at the Shay in a play off match and it would be super if we could get a big crowd down in support.
They have been playing really well and have been geting reasonable support but if we could get a good Fax following I am sure it would lift their game tremendously.

As I understand it, we play Oldham again (who we beat last Thursday) for a place in the final against Featherstone, please correct me if I am wrong.
Is the kick off time 8 o clock?

| The club don't market it well enough. Last wednesday morning, fans were asking me, when it was, how much it was, etc etc, then i had to ask the club on facebook!
If the club promoted it was by donation and what time it was..a bit before the morning of the game, i am sure more would come!
Our club is poor at marketing...its simple stuff though.

| Entry is by donation, the kick-off 8pm to be confirmed by the RFL. If anyone would like to volunteer their services in a marketing capacity please call at the office.
The under 23 and the under 18 team games are by donation only, with the proceeds going to the Fax Trust.

I don't think many people understand how few people " =#0000FFwork" at the Shay. It must be very gauling for them to constantly have to put up with the criticism they get.
Like wise the people who actively support the under 23's, JFFClub, Burybabe put in a lot of hard work, much of it unnoticed and all of it unpaid.
Half way through the season I volunteered to help with the bucket collection, regretably I have missed more than I have done, I feel I have let them down but due to certain changes in my Sundays I cannot always guarantee to be at the Shay an hour before kickoff and yet the same old faces carry on.
The reason I said " =#0000FFwork" Is because Malcolm and Mike work almost full time for no pay.
We have a dedicated work force which works as hard and as well as it can, give them a break, applaud them.
If you want to help, volunteer but before you do make sure you can commit, (unlike me)

| My criticism is constructive though...sometimes it has to be said and its not against individuals its against the club as a whole..and what with our main sponsor being marketing professionals!! I don't know if they've tried it though, but how about contacting the local uni's and asking for volunteers as that way you get expertise and they get something to put on their cv. I did this as a student (not in marketing) and was seen as added value on my CV. Yep and I raised £350 in sponsorship and put in £200 at auction so i am doing my little bit and will do anymore like flyering, etc or whatever.

I think anyone who supports Halifax, knows how we are short of numbers in the back office and what the volunteers bring to the club. This doesnt meant that people cant question areas where the club appears to be lacking. And i agree one area we do appear to be lacking is in marketing. Do we haven anybody working on marketing the club to new supporters? I know we have people looking the commercial side of things, and it would appear these guys are doing a great job.

I fully accept that every one has a right to voice their opinion, what I am trying to get across is, that if we haven't got anybody working on some areas it's because we haven't got the bodies and probably can't afford in the short term to employ someone.
I believe that's why Malcolm said.
"If any one would like to =#0000FFvolunteer in a marketing capacity"

yer but we do have a Commercial Manager don't we??
I love the club and have a lot of respect for the staff especially the volunteers but like I said before the club are not good at listening to any 'criticism' which is constructive. Batley are smaller than us yet manage to do lots of stuff, as do other clubs so no excuses sorry, there seems to be a reluctance to change anything its always well you do it then.

Good comment. For probably the last 3 seasons, FCHT have had at least a couple of Uni students from Huddersfield each season as part of the media team which has improved the website content massively.
