Is it 200k for all clubs below second or will we lose more funding if Doncaster
overtake us ?

What we all need to remember is where ever our teams finish ( you can still get second) it is more money than we would of got under the old system so in effect everyone's a winner unless your in the bottom 5 Next year spend it wisely clear the bills and start again the 3 full time teams will be pushing for the top Bradford London and Leigh then it's up to the rest of us to get 4th for the middle 8 although I don't know what the prise money is next year One thing I know is part time will find it hard to beat the 3 full time teams but the chance is there I hope if my team do finish second we use the money correctly and don't pay over the odds for players

True but the gap between 1st/2nd and 3/4 is too big imo and not just because of yesterday I would say the same if Fax were going to get that 2nd spot, it should be £500k, £450K, £400k and so on in £50K amounts less.
Remember how much London and Bradford will get next year!

Exactly. The idea was that the RFL would part fund two teams to compete in this middle eight.

There wouldn't be enough money to do as you say. More likely, it'd be 1st £300k, £250k, £200k and so on. And then Leigh would be £½m behind on funding. Which makes the whole twelves and eights thing even more untenable.

I think we need to give twelves and eights a go, just to stop folk banging on about what a great idea twelves and eights would be if only we'd had the guts to do it.

But it suffers from the same problem as traditional p+r - we haven't got enough cash to fund an under-competition of clubs to a level where they can seamlessly progress to $uperleague.

Just out of interest, what was the prize money last year?

While the extra cash will close the gap for this years top 2 ,it will also open up a different gap between the top 3/4 and tge rest, potentially making the bulk of the regular season predictable

In 2016 only the top 2 from 2015 will have the cash to go full time and therefore compete in the middle 8

Ultimatly clubs need to work harder to improve their own income streams, that simple fact has not changed

These figures are not actually prize money though. They are next seasons funding from the RFL which this season was something like 70 or 80k.
