Also in the running were London at Keighley, Bradford at home and Dewsbury away. In all the games we started well, weathered a storm and finished strongly.
Chuffed to bits the players and fans are responding to each other too.

As for most of the season, Manning and Tyrer were immense, an improving Luke Ambler ran strongly, the consistent Adam and Mitch combination bore fruit once more, a dangerous Johnno, Scotty giving it everything and many many others all giving it everything they had.

I must also give special individual praise to Ben Heaton and Salty, who both after torrid games against Salford, really showed some guts and determination to play out of their skins, Salty was always offering and sniping, and Ben Heaton was rock solid in attack and defence, couldn't have asked for anymore from either.

We have finished both home campaigns, regular and qualifiers by beating much more fancied opponents (full time) in Bradford and Leigh, and I think we ought to recognise this as a real yardstick for what we have achieved this year.

Well done Fax, the better team won, and Charlie knows.

Agree with your post Justthebasicfax. I must admit I was worried when Leigh started the second half so well and were playing with pace and scoring those two tries . But credit to fax , they really dug deep , pressured them into mistakes , good kicking , superb defence etc . Also good to see Divorty back as well , all the pack ran strongly , cracking bench with Moore , Bracek and Tangata adding oomph when they came on . Kaye as well who had a long stint after Maneely went off injured . Few walking wounded at the end I noticed but great effort . Ps Anybody else hear that Jamie Acton is coming our way ?

Acton was a bit of a liability today, but if anyone can coach it out of him Marshal can!

In my eyes we have finished the season as the best team out of the championship, form team in the league over the last 10 games and given SL opposition a good game in each of our qualifiers. We will only get better and as JTBF said that is where the bench mark is set and we need to be pushing for the top 2 next season. Again as we saw today we are fitter than certain full time teams and we need to push on from here.

Great performance to a man and Leigh could not live with us, so much for them putting a big score on us like some of their fans thought. Will be interesting to see what excuses are offered up because that was perfect conditions out there today.

Charlie was right , it was a very tough game, tougher than I expected, but NO complaints from me,Fax beat us in every depth and FULLY deserved the win, my Congrats to fax

I was sat with Halifaxjohn , Bentleyman , and Faxcar,and had a good afternoon with them ,o viously NOT the result but I'm sure they will all say,I commented how Fax beat us in every dept. I was a guest of Faxes great Hospitality ,Mr Poskitt made us very welcome ,it was nice talking with Mick Scott ,and Wilfred George,as well as Saxton and Pott, the food is very good

It does however seem like Goodnight Irene for Leigh's chances now , but I take heart with the news of 5 signings for next year, one is a Marquee signing for our great Club,so as Arne used to say,We will be back,keep smiling, at least Bentleyman went home with a smile.

Had the pleasure of sitting with Charlie, and Andy Gregory today.
Ian was very complimentary about our performance.
It was a double edged sword for him, saw his beloved Leigh humbled, but without doubt he will have pulled even further away in our fantasy league.
Charlie does know, and I am proud to know him.
No disrespect intended but I didn't think Leigh turned up and that's not taking anything away from Fax.
I don't think Leigh relished the battle.
They seemed very flat with no one prepared to take the game on.
Don't know whether Bob Beswick was injured but he was their best player by far when he went off in the first half.
Franks love child, Fuifui Moimoi, blasted over for a try and I thought great try, strength, and then for him it went down hill, catching practice tomorrow, Fui?
Dane Manning again a example of a whole hearted player.
That try, never thought he would have the pace, mind you one person doesn't think Heaton has the pace and what a game he had.
Even parked his car between two lines.

Yes it was the performance of the season, good game management, attacked and defended with equal amounts of determination and skill and while there were a number of individual stand performances equally important no one had a bad game.

Well done to everyone at Fax, not many have it in them to get a result like that against this Leigh side.

Charlie was great company and was the first to say Fax deserved it on the day, good on you Ian, very likely to be seeing you next year.

It did seem to me that Leigh 'didn't turn up', but there can be no excuse for that in such an important game. To even suggest that we didn't turn up, would be a great dis-service to 'Fax. It hurts to lose, especially after the (League!) season we had, but we didn't just lose, we were convincingly beaten in every aspect of the game - including pace, which you guys don't seem to think you have.

In some ways, being beaten by 'Fax isn't too hard to take, because I believe most of us have respected them for what they are - a good, honest, skilled side. Our games have always tended to be close - well, until today that is!

Now that our destiny is completely out of our own hands, I was going to ask you to play like that in your two remaining games. However, having consulted the abacus, if you do that, you could well end up 5th!



Finally - to 'rickster' - the reason we started the second half so well, was that your guys and the ref gifted us nigh on 100% possession, for about 15 minutes. We didn't use it all that well, but at least it stemmed the flow of your scores, until you got your hands on the ball again, that is!
