Just a heads-up. The DVLA are not always sending out car-tax renewal notices any more, which is what I always used as just that-a reminder to get it sorted. They caught me out in 2009 and i've just noticed my sons' ran out two months ago and he too got nothing in the post! (I noticed whilst washing his car for him............................in the good old days isn't that a task that kids used to do for their parents, not the other way round?)

£220 on the one I got away with paying for a while, but with the fine I got, minus two months "free" tax, it still cost me an extra £30ish, due to not getting a reminder (roll on May when I get my brand spanker with "efficient dynamics and stop-start technology") Happy days

Actually its not my car, I hardly drive it, I hardly leave the fekking house these days now I work at home, in fact thinking about it now I haven't left the house since last Saturday, is it still snowing out there ?

Its only my car when it needs £20 to tax it and £30 once a month to fill the petrol tank - and if it breaks down of course.

I collect my new car on Tuesday and I ain't got a clue how much it will cost to tax it . Will be first time I have ever had a brand new Japanese car . Things ain't gone too good with it so far . It is about two months late . Still , thats better that the 18 month wait for the Zafira .

The tax depends on engine size/emissions so if, for example, it's 1.0 ltr with very low emissions it won't cost you owt, whereas if it's a 5.0 litre V8 it'll cost a packet!
