5weeks of toil and the team looks like they are just that a team playing together.
But yesterday was as bad as it gets. Very Smith like performance no plan and error strewn. BA needs to make some bold decisions Hall is a has-been. The interception proved it all. In the past hall would have been between the sticks without any Saints player within 10 metres. All of the other backs ie Handley, Lumb, Newman and Miller would have run that opportunity in with ease. Miller is not a consistent full back but worth a place on the team sheet.
Until hall gets fit ( not likely ever) hall should be dropped to water carrier or if he has to play get him in as prop or 2nd row move Handley back to winger where he belongs and drop Miller into centre with Newman The big issue is who would you get at full back. Is there anyone in the reserves? Or is it time to seriously look at who is available
I guess we're all entitled to our opinions, but if I have to say that analysis is way off in my opinion. More importantly I don’t think any of the above would ever enter Arthur or Langley's minds. I went to the game and I can assure you that it wasn't as bad as it gets, in previous seasons it's been a lot, lot worse than that. All that said,8 we were very poor as judged against this seasons standards. It was obvious we're going to make it hard for ourselves when Miller managed to knock on at the play the ball because he was more interested in arguing with the opposition, and I thought Ash doubled down on that poor attitude throughout the first half. He's not usually prone to such petulance, but it summed up as a team perfectly; hot, irritable, and lacking patience. Positives (there were some); we defended a load of Saints possession our line very well in sweltering heat in the first half, Croft and Watkins really took on the line despite not being perfect, Lumb took his try well and did a great job with Feldt, and Lisone continued his excellent run of form. Onto Leigh next week, where I"m sure we'll be much, much better. We'll have to be. As you say we are all entitled to our opinion as well as you being entitled to challenge mine. But Hall makes more mistakes than he ever did. He did not break a tackle last night. Lumb is a far better prospect as is Edgell. Too many people remember the good times not reality Hall always has and always will make more mistakes than the average winger, it was the same at KR, and also towards the back end of his first spell at Headingley. It's not because he's a bad player or past it, it's because he makes more tough carries and attracts more defenders than any other winger in the league, that's why coaches (Arthur included) love him. I'll back him to set things straight next week.

| Wow, some of the takes on here are incredible! We should just sack half the staff, all the players and find a new owner.
Really disappointing loss, but ultimately these things happen. We're top 3, and having a great season so far, and I can't remember the last time we won 5 on the bounce.
I think it was JP who used to say most of your players have to have an 8 out of 10 performance to win games each week, Friday was an example of too many players being at 5 or 6/10, which in the context of the season has been really unusual.
The reality is we struggle with Saints. They are super aggressive side and pretty horrible in the tackle with tons of interference, and that got us way too frustrated. We've been playing at a really high intensity all season, and it looked like it caught up on us a bit. Onwards and upwards, looking forward to our game this week against Leigh, which should be really competitive.

| I don’t think Friday’s defeat was down to attitude, more a case of us not being as good as the fans started to think we were. I was disappointed because it was a good time to play Saints, they had a large part of their salary cap sat injured on the bench and we couldn’t take advantage. We were predictable and at times clueless. We also don’t have enough pace in the team to strike from deep and that kills you when you’re chasing a game. The upside for the players is a chance for revenge is just around the corner, the downside is they will have troops back. I’m enjoying the season overall, not solely from a Leeds perspective, and the chase for the top 6 is both competitive and compelling. Shame there’s no relegation because it would have been an interesting season right throughout the league.

| Just a bad day at the office. We were really poor and the best team won. But some ridiculous over-reactions on here.
Most of the team had a bad day. Gannon, Hall, O'Connor, Newman all had poor games. And someone please stop Handley making stupid captains challenges. The forwards could not get on top and therefore Connor and Croft were hardly in the game. Lisone was the only forward who really took it to them - the smash into Delaney was a thing of beauty.
Loved the honesty of Arthur after the game. We thought we just had to turn up to win. He'll be all over them this week about attitude - and rightly so.
Great opportunity against Leigh on Friday to put it right. And then Saints at HQ in a few weeks. So, I don't think we need to sack the entire team just yet....

| Hopefully the attitude changes substantially next week, especially ball in hand. Definitely drifting back into the worst of the Rohan era 'try to score on every play then knock on' when in possession.
I don't think there's much to be gained in pulling out individuals, pretty much everyone made an error at some point (maybe Lisone aside, but he's not on the field much). Hall is making me nervous when we're definding, jumping off his line to try to shut things down (like Fusitua). I doubt coaching will stop this, but we did look a bit exposed out wide. Bentley was frustrating to watch again, especially after he nearly cost us the game against Wakefield with his indiscipline. Why isn't Jenkins getting picked?
We regularly lost games like this in the golden era, hopefully just a bad day at the office. We need the whole team to step up, especially the senior players, to make sure we don't go back to the win-one-lose-one-repeat mentality. I thought Saints came with the perfect game plan to put us back in the Rohanball mentality, and they worked harder than us. Compare the two captain's challenges in the first half. A lot to learn from.

| We were poor, however, if we stick to a ratio of 5 wins and one loss, I'll take that, but I guess it is how we respond to Friday.
I do think the team has an attitude problem, however, it seems to have improved this season. Last year we constantly underperformed when expected to win, with players believing they only had to turn up to win.
I agree with the sentiment regarding Handley and captains call. He has made some ridiculous calls and shows he is not the wisest of captains. I also remain unconvinced regarding him as a centre. He has had some good inputs but I find him a much better winger. We get much more bang for our buck with him as a winger.
I don't want to over criticize players when I'm sure we'll turn it around but O'Connor is not good enough as a starting hooker for us. We need a better passer. Bentley too is not good enough. They are both in for their tackling and nothing more.
I would personally also like to see ECW come in for Lumb but that's mainly to see how ECW gets on. I think there are a few errors in Lumb too.
