Due to yesterday's results, we are now assured of a top 8 finish. Not so many weeks ago, some were worrying whether this would happen, and yet now we are sure to be there with 3 weeks to go.

I think we are pretty much safe now due to a good turnaround in form. A few weeks ago we were playing so poorly we didnt look like being able to pull a win out of the bag, if that form had continued we'd have been staring down the barrel of a finish outside of the playoffs

Indicates the problem with the 8 team playoffs. We've been e for large periods, but have put a little run together and cruised into the playoffs.

SL is weak and is getting weaker. We are half the team we used to be and when you look at the current Wigan team it's not a patch on the team of say 2004. There are less quality players and the ones we do have are leaving or have left to join Union or NRL teams. There is no quick fix to this as the problem is simple, money or lack of it. Removing the salary cap will not help as it will just mean what talent we do have just gets hoovered up by a couple of clubs and then the league will be even more boring.

Warrington have a playing roster oozing with stars and the current Leeds backline is exceptional.

We do need more money, but its not that dire. Wigan have shown that even with a modest playing roster, you can still play some very entertaining rugby.

We need the top teams to be turning up every week, in order that they don't jepordise their playoff spot.

If we don't want to cheapen the league, then we need to make sure that every match counts. Will the new format do this?

I reckon we might finish in 6th place, for a team that has been poor for perhaps 20 games out of the 24 so far, just shows how bad superleague is at the moment.
The current top 4 are way ahead performance wise over the rest of the league.
Hull KR and Hull have looked better than us this year, yet for some reason we have managed to creep above them.

Saints play our last game of the season on Friday 6th of September.
Penrith play their last game 2 days later on the 8th.

Any chance we have already started the Visa paper work on Walsh. Deregister Perry and bobs your uncle (salary cap permitting) we have 2 halfbacks.

Agreed. You only have to look at Jacob Miller at hull. He's only starting to show any form now and he's been here about a month.

Leave Walsh until next season IMO.
