Thought the kid had a superb game last night. He really doesn't get anywhere near the credit he deserves.

That kick he put in for McDonnell (whilst at full pelt) was top class. Had it been executed by Greg Inglis or such it would have been trumpeted to the heavens.

If I had to point one attribute I really like about him is his decision-making. Very rarely takes the wrong option - certainly going forward.

He's up near the top of the try-scoring charts. Ditto breaks. He sets up plenty for others.

Very, very underrated player.

He,s using his size and strength a bit more this season, just needs to improve his defence in the missed tackles stat department.

His defence isn't that bad. Yes, he's prone to getting caught out of formation - occasionally - in arguably the toughest position defensively of all. But you can't even begin to compare him with turnstiles like the current England centre from over the hill.

That kick of his for McDonnell was pure class. And thanks for the travelling fans that came over last night, you helped to make a great atmosphere. Had a good bit of banter with some of you in the Bootroom before the game as usual. Hope everyone that came had a safe trip home.

You don't get the feeling you're on the set of a remake of Deliverance. Nobody points a rifle at you. No bricks coming end over end through the coach windows.

One might dare call it ... civilised.

As an opposition fan I never really rated him before this season, this year however he seems to have put a little bit of size on and looks really dangerous when he's got the ball in hand. Not sure who will partner Watkins in the centre vs the Kiwi's but if he carries on he will be in with a shout...?

Turner has really turned around himself this year.

Last year it was all about how he was not in the right frame of mind and putting out press releases in the MEN about it. (if I recall correctly)

this year he has been top notch, kicking, passing, tackling the boy has done good and I don't think there is a game this year where I've thought he has shirked the work.

There's an awful lot of Willie Talau in Turner. Like Talau he's reasonably quick, physically durable and positively lethal in the red-zone.

Talau might edge Turner on defence (although he too was prone to exploding too quickly out of the defensive line) but the latter is unquestionably better at passing and kicking.

Both players are/were just good professionals who go about the work without any great fanfare and whilst neither occupy the absolute top-tier insofar as talent is concerned - they perform a vital function within the side which is very hard to do without.

Turner's goal kicking was trumpeted when he arrived too, I recall. Maybe his confidence issues of last season was the reason we took the job off him.

You're correct there is no comparison defensively at all.

Turner 172 tackles and 45 missed tackles
Sarginson 208 tackles and 25 missed tackles.

Turner has the most missed tackles at Saints. In fact only Scotte Dureau has a worse ratio of missed tackles to tackles made in the whole of Superleague.

And 5 of those 25 where against Chris Bridge in one match.
