Seriously think it's time we introduced 2 refs. The rucks are complete mess. Players are more interested in stealing the ball than actually tackling. Also attackers are letting go of it to try earn penalties. Put a referee right next to the ruck players will soon stop trying to rip the ball. Bentham wasn't even watching when Waterhouse rippted the ball and just guessed.

You are probably right, the problem is we can hardly find enough refs to officiate at the required level as it is, never mind trying to dig up another half dozen!

The current crop are not even up to the standard to referee a game on their own, why punish us with having two of the incompetent fools doing it.

Personally i would have our full time set it charge, but the second ref (an up and coming ref from the championship) just stands by the ruck/tackle. It's more of a deterrent as if you have a ref 2 feet a way, players won't chance trying to rip it, and the guy carrying the ball will keep hold of it.

As said in my earlier post, Bentham wasn't looking half the time when the ball came out and just guessed and i'm fed up of players trying to rip the ball instead of tackling and just losing it trying to get a penalty.

As the ruck is the most important part of the sport, as regards refereeing, therefore if a game only has 1 ref then he/she should be by the ruck, and leave the touch judges to mark the 10m offside line. If the defending team advances too early then the touchies should inform the referee, simple.

Could be a good idea.I know what you mean about the ball steals i think it would help to eliminate it or at least get some accurate and fair decisions.

12 team super league coming up in 2015, we need two refs going into the new format

currently there is 7 or 8 referees who take control of sl matches, in a perfect world the clubs and the rfl should come together to have 2 games on the Friday, 2 Saturday and two the sunday, that would mean referees could double up over the weekend matches and have two men in the middle at each game

cant think of any other way we are going to get two refs as we don't have the number

Get 3 young refs over from Oz. Promote 2 from the Championship. Simple.
