| It would seem giving your team mate the rounds of the kitchen sink is not only a sending off but will get you a ban because the ref heard you and thought it was directed at him. Well unless you have the initials of JP.
In other news homophobic comments don't.

Some have been saying for ages that there are two sets of rules depending on your club. I never saw the Leeds game, but from what I have heard on here and others, it was clear what was being said but no action taken.

| This isn't directed at a particular club or player as all are guilty to differing extents.
I think it is about time the RFL, ref's and clubs started clamping down on this before we end up like football. Any abuse of ref's by players should be dealt with harshly. I was brought up playing at school to call the ref sir and not question anything, the captain was permitted to ask the ref for an explanation. We even used to bring the ref a water bottle during any stoppage in play.
It's something we should be proud of as a sport and needs to come back.
I don't think the ref's are any better or worse than they have ever been. The problem now is errors are highlighted a lot more due to the number of cameras about and inept commentators who won't let it go.

Weyman is giving Grahame Horne a gobful not the ref but Grahame Horne it's clear by who he is looking at yet the ref decides it him he is talking too so sends him off. Now after seeing what happened and what was/has been ignored on Friday how can that be squared away with anyone?

Why? It's quite obvious that on Friday either the ref didn't hear what was being said or didn't think it was directed at him. The RFL are investigating. What more do you want?

No I get that I just wonder how another ref can then decide that 2 people having a rather heated argument (Weyman and Horne) means one of them is actually talking to the ref so much so it deserves a red card (Weyman).
Maybe he just decided to to turn a deaf 'un like on Friday
Surely you can see that it does look a little suspicious.

| As Weyman has been charged with using foul & abusive comments to a ref it is obvious that the ref felt it was directed at him. I've not seen the incident so can't comment.
They are also investigating ZH and will likely get the opinion of an expert lip reader and go from there.
I hope the RFL, if the players involved are found to be guilty, run with this and make players think twice in the future.

surely the referee microphones record everything that they pick up. That along with the video should be enough to know what was said and easily identify who it was aimed at.

Possibly. Some microphones such as the one I use at work are designed not to pick up background noise.

Just seen a clip of the Peacock incident and he clearly shouts 'you effing ben.t c..t' at him, the referees need to be sponsored by an hearing aid company as well as Specsavers if they miss these things. I think the top clubs do get a more lenient time from the RFL, I still cannot believe that not one player from the Leeds v Wigan game at Magic was called up, don't get me wrong I am not one who dislikes a bit of the old fashioned biff, but if its frowned upon then it needs to be frowned upon for all, there was clearly punches thrown and some very bad head shots.

The match footage clearly shows Weyman approaches Roby & shouts in his face. Weyman knew what he had done, didn't question the decision and walked straight off.
The Hardaker incident is being looked at, but it is clear his comments were not aimed at the referee. I haven't seen the Peacock clip.
