I have been wading through the rules on the salary cap and came across something I didn't know about previously. Apparently, if you have a player that has been with the club for 10 or more consecutive years, only half their salary is counted in the salary cap.

Perhaps this will also add to the argument for keeping Lee in 2013 ? I certainly hope so, even though he has slowed considerably, he is still a fantastic player .

Most of the discussion after the Cats game was quite rightly about the forwards. But Les Cats are absolutely lethal if they get a sniff of your try line with their big hard running forwards. However I thought Briers had a very good kicking game (despite the difficult wind), he kept kicking long on the last play the ball to keep them out of our half. Then in the second half do you remember those touch finding kicks he made, sending their forwards back to a scrum in their own 20m ? I kept on seeing nails being driven into a coffin.

That's true. We can not reduce the cap by more than £50k, regardless of how many long serving players we have.
