Guessing we have offered a 1 year deal, Giants a 2 year deal. It’s a judgement call on how effective he will be for how long.

Fair enough. He’s been in great form, but 2 more years on a big salary seems a lot when we are bringing in a coach who gets younger cheaper players punching above their weight. Maybe we’ve got another top prop lined up?

This will be the biggest shake-up we’ve had for many years. Austin and Widdop won’t be here next year, Lineham and Mamo gone. Hill gone. J Clark and Inglis retired. In a way it might just be what this club needed.

Now the pressure is off a lot of these players, and the coach, maybe we really can push on and have a real dig at the playoffs. We don’t look clinical or composed enough just yet, but maybe we’ll improve week on week.

Widdop will be here next year, he is on a silly salary over here and I think he’s finally settled. If we go into next season with Williams and Widdop in the halves we would have a real chance at achieving something special IMO.

I assume this would explain the Joe Bullock signing. Similar height and build and maybe powell is hoping to unlock his potential and replace Hill?
He's 6'5, 17 and a half stone, he a big lad with some acceleration going forward but miles away from Hill IMO but as always i hope our new players come in and excel

It'll be interesting to find out who is replacing Chris Hill, if true. He's been a great servant to the Wire and I wish him luck for the future.

We need a machine to replace Hill if he is going. We've seen other clubs struggle to replace good props and it's worth a quota place for a really good one if there's nothing on the market over here. We've been spoilt with Hill & Cooper and will really miss them when they go.
