| I AM NOT IN FAVOUR OF FRIDAY NIGHT MATCHES. I DO NOT SEE HOW IT WILL INCREASE GATES. I THINK THE TV. PEOPLE AND THE RFL ARE NOT BOTHERED ABOUT FANS HAVING TO GET TO GAMES STRAIGHT FROM WORK ESPECIALLY AWAY FANS.

Our Friday night games are nothing to do with TV coverage?

| Well Sundays are my preferred match days but as already been posted there are lots of things available to folk on Sundays these days than RL.
When we first started playing Sundays'all those years ago' pubs used to shut at 2pm. No shops were open and we did not have live footie on TV.
Now everything has moved on and we do not even have promotion and relegation to aspire to or worry about.
Crowdwise' with a really good side last season and with Widnes bringing fans we had an average of less than 2400.
To get to where we want our club to be we have to try things. Do the same you stay the same and wether we played York on a Friday or Sunday is unlikely to affect the away support the majority of clubs would bring when they play us at the LSV.

| Frankie, you are correct. There are many other attractions to tempt folk on a sunday and people are creatures of habit, which means our fans are creatures of habit and sunday was LRLFC day for many of our core fan base. The big question is will they take to changing their Friday routines and can we attract enough who didn't like Sundays to replace those we lose. We will find out soon, but surely we should be switching to Sat nights when Sky move to Mondays.

I think you are right that people are creatures of habit. The biggest problem I see with our fixture this season is there is no consistency on when we play. Most people get into a routine with their families, the man goes to rugby while the wife takes the kids to the pictures or whatever. Playing on a different day every week makes this routine difficult. 8.00 kick offs are bad for families to take kids to the match as well I think. Too late for most kids to be gettingh home and getting ready for bed. Whatever day we play on there are alternative attractions for people. That's the way of the world.

You know this would make sense, ko 6.30 Sat night, no football on TV, or SL games, perfect for a drink or too after the match too.

To be fair my understanding is that Fridays are far better from a corporate point of view (can't see corporate working on a Saturday night TBH), and as such an opportunity for creating much needed revenue.
Can't see it being a winner from an attendance point of view - from a personal point there will be little or no chance of me making Friday night games. If it drags new people in then all well and good, but I've a horrible feeling it's likely to push more of the regulars away - hope I'm wrong

Maybe it has, but it's probably the most important topic this season - no fans, no club....
and I for one am devastated that I won't be able to make most games this season.
