Quote GiantMisterE="GiantMisterE"But can't you see... you are totally bagging him and I think that you're just being controversial for the sake of it. Anybody coming off such an injury lay-off would be delighted with that debut.
And most folk will highlight the positives and say those are going to improve rather than looking for things that weren't there and putting a negative spin on the lad.
He DIDN'T knock-on twice, his positional play was alright, he was all over the field and looked dangerous with ball in hand.
If we want to start on not making a pass to Jerry when it was on, let's have a look at the last few years and count all the times Leroy didn't take that option.'"
We will have to differ on the knock ons- thats part of my point- fans See what they want to see.
He dropped a bomb late in the first half. Remember it clearly as the guy next to me at the time mumbled something about grix! There was then a caffufle in the second where him Darnell didn't communicate - luckily we earned a penalty due to an infraction by a Catalan player so didn't lose the ball.
Just to be clear I'm not bagging him- I'm bagging some of the fans.
The fans on here will start to pick up on the errors he makes -whilst ignoring the good stuff- give it till next year- look how things changed with grix, in the end he could do no right! yet the wakey fans love him right now!
Our full back has always been the scapegoat since Reilly went. Even Brett Hodgson got it in the neck. Then many of those who'd been moaning about him were crying that thewlis (wrong) let him go.
A fullback is exposed more than any other player, and a fullbacks errors are more obvious as a result of that. What is less obvious to most is the organisation, positioning and understanding of the opposition plays a fullback must have- those can't easily be measured or observed, but a dropped bomb or a missed tackle in open play they are obvious.
So yes I'm bagging - but not who you think!
