| Anyone know if this event is still on? Haven't seen anything on the Quins site. Think it's a fund-raiser for Sonny Fai (some of our team and Manly are there with shirts and stuff to raffle).
Ady- might be worth flagging it up on the Quins board and Totalrl, as not all Quins fans are aware of this board.

| Could be due to on-going lack of a CEO and a Marketing manager. Think the QRL is somewhat of a 'headless' chicken plus sometimes wonder what the 'internal' PR boy does to justify his pay.
Anyway will be at the Walkabout to contribute to their fundraiser.......

Not too far away from the truth with that evaluation. If it was up to me (which it plainly never will be) I would have pushed this on the web site, through email and through a mail-shot. Walkabout managers are in charge of their own marketing and promotion spends and to be honest, why would they want to partner with us if we aren't prepared to play "scratchy backy"?
Looking forward to Thursday night.

| Adam, the manager at SheBu Walkie (as our antipodean cousins have started calling the place!), is an out and out AFL man. Plays for and sponsors West London Wildcats.
Can't see him wanting to get involved with Quins RL in any meaningful way.

Oh well.....must have been his day off when this fundraiser was planned then
Of course he would welcome a tie in. Yes, AFL is king of kings and he will of course sponsor the AFL boys first, but if he is on the ball, he won't rule out some form of tie in with QRL .......and we really can't afford to be too picky can we.
If we offered a prize 1 box a fortnight, with raffle tickets being sold all week long behind the bar and revenues being split between the club and a charity of SheBu's choice, we should raise at least a bit of interest, which is more than we did last year. Unless of course we have gone from 1 box sold last season to all boxes sold out this season

| The Quins site have posted the event......better late than never.
Perhaps the noticed the anti- comments posted here and decided to do some worthwhile work before the 'backoffice' team were really 'slaged-off'
Expect they will claim that they all were 'bogged down' dealing with tickets for Sunday!!

Generally speaking I agree with you about the club's marketing and promotional activities, but having had first hand dealings with the manager I think this is a one off thing for him. I seriously don't think he'd be interested in any kind of ongoing association with the club. I think his interest in this event is mainly because of the situation surrounding Sonny Fai and the opportunity to market the Sea Eagles to his customers.
