| Being played at Ebbsfleet United’s ground ....in south EAST London.
Apparently we will be playing an annual game in Kent. Not sure that will get past first contact or how we fetched upon South East London. Not sure what the cross over is of people going from SE to SW my guess low. For me an hour’s drive and pay the toll I believe. Hmm...maybe not. On the plus side that now means our first home game is Fev. Hope for a big attendance push so loads of new prospective fans can see us get an absolute towelling in our shiny stadium.

| Bit of a stretch to call it South East London but being close to Gravesend, has a sense of humour about it.
You might think if we are playing in Kent then Medway would make more sense.

| To paraphrase Hughes
"We could play in a 2nd or 3rd division Rugby ground, but where's the future in that"
6th tier soccer grounds are OK then.
Spiralling down the plughole with every turn of the page....

Am I missing something or is a really, really random choice.

Yup. It’s the drive to get buy in from Kent I don’t quite get. Is Wimbledon’s nearest home county not Surrey? If Wimbledon is to be our new long term home then getting buy in from somewhere where people might travel to go to games would make more sense.
Ebbsfleet and Wimbledon don’t seem to be an obvious fit. I like to think we got a good deal. If not.........bonkers!

Did anyone else get the email? If not it’s perfectly reasonable to assume it was some kind of spoof email designed to lift the mood in these difficult times.

This will be the 4th venue Hughes is paying for this season. The one we can only use for 1st team matches for part of the season, the training ground we can only use when the landlords have finished with it for the evening, the one we are using for the youth to be close to the Academy head who then quit and now the one in Kent.

| An ex Broncos fan I know was told by an Ebbsfleet official that this was on the cards at Steve Mascord's birthday bash. He told me at Army RL Challenge Cup 2nd Round day so it's been in the pipelines a long time.
One of the Ebbsfleet officials used to be employed by an NRL club, which is why they were so keen to host the match.

When you write it down and read it back it’s crazy isn’t it. My wacky idea that every single decision that the ‘board’ make should be sanity checked by an independent person with a brain grows more attractive by the second. Surely if they set out what they intended to do and sent it to a grown up, any half sensible person would ask a couple of questions and the whole rationale for it would fall away and we would avoid another banana skin.

Cheers Dan that offers some glimmer of understanding. I’m all in favour of our ‘board’ talking to management teams from other clubs from across any sports. If we are lucky they’ll pick up some good ideas. We seem to have run out of them ourselves.
