By the sounds of it to get a deal like that in times like these is good business and it gives the game great stability.

Hopefully the clubs can now continue to bring through their youth players and continue to grow their crowds and the game can kick on.

That's a result! I, along with many, feared a big reduction so hopefully that's a positive sign for the future.

I need to see the small print because I'm paranoid the RFL will have messed summat up somewhere along the line.

40million more than the latest deal is a great start though.

SC increase is a must for me. 2 million increase for me and 500k more for the championships. Our sport needs to be more attractive.

I think RU received £87m for their last TV deal, but I dont know how long that was for. Our last TV deal was a three year deal, how that compares to the new 5 year deal I dont know. Taking into account the rising cost of running the sport there wont be much left to increase the SC with. It is nice however to know that it hasn't decreased as it has with other sports.

Current deal = 3 years at £16.7m a year

New deal = 5 years at £18m a year

Which given the current market is a good deal, especially when you compare how the likes of the Football League and Scottish League have had massive cuts in the value of their rights in recent years.

But it's not. We've gone from a 50 million 3 year deal to a 90 million 5 year deal. Not much of an increase but stability is key!
