Thought it was a scummy punch tbh, Tamou clearly angry after the tackle from Galloway. Tamou and Galloway eyeing each other up and Garbutt just does that. Completely unprovoked. I like seeing an aussie get smashed just as much as anyone else but that was a dirty trick imo.

No. The two incidents are not comparable.
Flower hit Hohia twice. You could argue that the first lunch was similar to tonight's incident. However, Garbutt did not then follow this with a second punch to the head of an unconscious and defenceless player lying on the ground.
If Flower had only thrown the first of his punches he may have recieved a similar punishment to what I expect Garbutt to get, a sending off and a one or two match suspension. It was Flower's second punch that earned him most of his ban.

Tamou asked for a punch and got a very good one. Lance Hohiha also asked for a punch in the 2014 GF and he also got a good one but what sets them apart is Flower jumping on Hohiha and giving him another whilst unconscious. It was that second punch and took it on to a different league and was worth about three quarters of his ban.

Garbutt shouldn't get more then a couple of games IMO.

To be fair to Tamou, he probably didn't expect to get whacked because its been banned in the NRL for some time and you just don't see punches anymore. Whilst I don't like the biff nowadays, until very recently anyone getting up and slapping like Tamou did would have fully expected a brawl to result.

Can't agree with the OP. Peach? Tamou was looking at Galloway, had his hands by his side, and Garbutt just took an easy, cheap shot and ran off. And WTF were the Whinos fans cheering him for? The game was lost by then, so maybe that was their highlight.

Pretty pathetic cheap shot IMO. Galloway couldn't be bothered getting involved (because it was a pretty weak slap) so why did that little s&*t think it was ok to pile in? If that had been one of our players getting decked, we wouldn't hear the last of it...
