| BBC coverage of Rugby League is second rate looks and sounds like its been thrown together about an hour before being transmitted.

| I got sick of hearing Jonathan Davies talk about 'Loo Lie' today - you'd think he could pronounce it properly!!

| I tweeted about this earlier coz CBBC was on the HD channel and someone threw back at me "rugby league doesnt need to be in HD to look good" True i know but im sure it looks better in HD than bob the builder or whatever.
The BBC definitely needs to improve its RL coverage and I think in the future they need to be looking at trying to share SL coverage with sky, possibly by televising a live sunday 3pm game on top of skys fri/sat coverage. Would definitely help get the sport out to the masses anyway. Probably could never happen but its something I would like to see.

| The issue i have is they don't seem to pick up the atmosphere of the crowd so you find that the tension of the game isn't fully translated.
Say what you like about Eddie and Stevo but they are exciting commentators regardless of what they say, JD is was a fantastic player but god the guy talks sh--e and not in a very exciting way either.
Clare Balding is a newbie to the sport so i forgive her layman questions, she makes the effort to get to grips with it but it's not only her, the BBC seem to act like this sport was invented 10 years ago and was only aired on TV last year and no one knows about it, that's right explain to the lovely audience what a (self explanatory) forward pass is, ffs.
I like Dave Woods he's reasoned and sensible but i find when you have 2 commentators you need the sane guy and the crazy exciting guy. He's the sane guy, JD although crazy is about as exciting as a mutes meeting.

| I thought the bbc coverage was OK but that shocking empty stand at a CC semi final shows how our sport is lacking the fantastic folowing it used to have and that is what is spoiling the atmosphere.

I couldn't believe there was a whole stand empty either. And not a stand behind the goals, but a full side stand. For a semi final of a cup competition that's a bit shocking, and needs looking into more than whether the BBC are showing us in HD or not!

Only use BBC would have a camera fixed on the empty stand for as long as they did.

It has been that way for years though.
