| Don’t know why this won’t go away. It seems every man and his dog and in the chip shop is saying the same. Is it the worst best kept secret?
Obviously don’t want to finish 12th. Friday is The Big Boppers last game too.

| There's a couple of blokes in the RWAB Forum keep this flame flying (apologies if you are one). I can't see it myself, it would be such an amateurish thing for the SL / RFL / IMG to do after all the bluster about 2024 and all that.
Equally I don't want to come 12th - it's the only way we can guarantee our destiny.
Even if Fev implode now on the back of Campbell's hammer attack (so Fev) then Toulouse would make a good addition to SL.

| How will "no relegation" work.
For sure, the winner of the Championship GF will expect promotion and rightly so.
Therefore, is there a proposal to increase SL to 13 (or 14) clubs and if so, where is this information.
It sounds like "Chinese whispers" and not a serious comment.
If tere was no relegation, ourselves and Cas could do with knowing, as it makes a huge difference with regard to recruitment.

| It’s the so called open secret doing the rounds all season. Can’t see it being true when clubs have apparently voted to keep SL at 12. Does make sense when you think how poor a standard SL is this season it wouldn’t take much to stay up but we haven’t gone all out panick buying as though our SL lives have depended on it.

| To be honest if relegation abandoned no way would feath be allowed promotion, not even if 2 clubs are. Promoted
Also without new owners we would be back to square one with. Players well past it for a season in sl

| Have heard the rumours for months but struggling to see how and why it comes about. That said we have looked comfortable with our position in the league throughout the season with no real concern when we have sat bottom for the majority of that time. In other seasons, Applegarth would have gone a long time ago but the board seem happy to continue as we have with no worries that we look to be doomed to relegation.
That said, Sky money is down again so to share that between 14 teams and not 12 will be an even harder time for some clubs (us included) on how to run the club when costs are going up but income is going down again. There is also the concern that Fev may well win the Championship but have plenty of off the field issues to contend with before making the move upwards.
I feel if we finish bottom then we deserve to go down and it may well be a positive than a negative. Modelling ourselves on a Leigh could well be a good target for us to achieve over the next few years when (or if) we return to the top flight.

| I may of course be proved wrong but I think this is just wishful thinking by some ill informed people.
IMG and RFL have both publicly said the bottom team will be relegated this year.
Ellis and the current board have spent over £200k trying to get us a win. (Cas have spent money doing the same) If they knew they weren't going down they wouldn't have done that.

I agree with the first two paragraphs but, most definitely not the third one.
Going down and hoping to come back stronger is just a myth, to make yourself feel better.
And if we're using Leigh as a shining light and not Bradford or even Toulouse, Leigh went straight down after their first two promotions and have prospered this time by having a SL squad in the Championship.
Will we be able to afford that ?
London cam up and went straight back down, ditto Toulouse, ditto Leigh (twice) and then we have the likes of Bradford.
Even now, we have to find a way to avoid the drop and then IF their is cash available, try and put together a mid table squad and then IF we can manage that, try and build again.

If the takeover goes ahead.... then apparently it's a definite yes.
If it doesn't go ahead.... then it's a definite no !!

| Can't realistically see this being the case, to be honest, especially so late in the season, with no official announcement, and also with the reduced funding.
Having said that, I don't know if anyone watched the game back, on SKY, with our home game V Hull FC, back in, I think May. Both Applegarth & Carter were interviewed before the game, and neither seemed to have the body language that at the time we were about 10 games into the season and winless at that point. It was as if there was no relevance to the outcome of the game, which did seem odd, especially as Hull FC, at that point were also down near the foot of the table. It just put an element of doubt in my mind that they knew something that we didn't.
In all honesty, I do think that we are clutching at straws here.
