I was told the club are fairly confident Bell will be off quota next season. Cartwright wants Knight here next season and Knight is keen to stay. So think as long as the quota situation is resolved it?s likely he?ll be here next season.
Re the quota system I think it?s something the game here has to go with to open up the player pool numbers. However what also needs to addressed on the back of it is youth development & academies as part of the SL requirement. The quota change shouldn?t be seen as a permanent one more a bit of a temporary arrangement until the home grown player pool has grown sufficiently.
I've said for a while, any players developed through your own academy should only have half their salary count on the cap. It would give clubs (especially ones that neglect their youth system) incentive to develop players internally and therefore increase the player pool.
I wonder who won't be staying. If we keep Knight then that's Bell, Bailey and batchelor on top of pryce. Seems likely a fair chunk of salary there. Surely we can't be that much under?
Lane going we know, maybe it's ashworth or Knight? Briscoe also ooc
