Seems a shame that the RFL cant hand you the 2 SL points that they have taken from Salford for losing the appeal against the £10K original fine.
Its only fair I would have thought !

Maybe if they appeal again they might!! I'm content with that, Salford didn't deserve the 2 points but I don't think it's fair to say we do either.

Out of interest - is the 5K an addition to the 10K allready paid or is it just 5K and 2 points ? |

Sense prevails at last!
2 point deduction should have been handed down at the first hearing! Maybe the appeals panel have been influenced by all the negativity spoken about the first punishment of 10K.
This should be the at least the standard punishment for anyone fielding more than 13 players during a game.

It is a 15k fine now
two point deduction spot on - they were two points gained by unknowingly cheating.

You can't award a team points based on what might be. Cas may have gone on to win, but equally, they may not have. Doesn't matter what your opinion on the matter is, you basically can't make premonitions. So that's why it would never happen.
It seems a little Draconian to me but it is ultimately meaningless in the context of the League anyway. It's hardly going to derail a run for the play-offs for us. However, I don't think the Dr will be sweating over what is essentially beer money to him. |

I don't read it like that Dave, I read it that Salford have appealed the severity of the fine, they have reduced the fine to £5,000 but said it's to be levelled up by a points deduction.
They can't fine Salford £10,000 then on appeal increase it by another £5,000 and a points deduction surely? |
