| . . . to try Jordan Turner at 6 again?
Hear me out . . . .
Wheeler continues to be a basket case, which narrows our (more obvious) stand-off options to Wilkin and Lance.
Wilkin - no. Enough said
Lance - I laughed out loud on a number of occasions watching the game last night at just how bad his decision making is. It's almost as if he tries to choose the worst option to irritate me.
Josh Jones has looked strong in the centres and I see Percival and Jones as potentially our best centre combination.
Roby is looking knackered this year and we are losing his explosive impact. I think spelling him mid-games would be a smart move.
A conclusion to be drawn from the above is that, with a fully fit team, it may be worth trying:
Centres - Jones/Percy
6 - Turner
9 - Roby
Bench 9 - Lance
Anyone else think it's worth a shot in the 5ish pointless months we have before the play-offs?

| I agree with Jones and Percival at centre with Roby at 9 and Hohaia on the bench. However with Turner being injured for a couple of months I would like to see either Wheeler at 6 or Charnock/Hewitt given an opportunity.

| No no no no no no please not Jordy at 6!!! I'm begging Brown not to go down that route!!! I'd rather play wello there!!!
I don't know how much I could stand of him doing that little hop skip and jump and then dropping the ball inside.
He's decent/average centre and a absolutely woeful stand off!
Lance & wheeler are by far better at 6 then Turner.
Turner has no natural ball skills as a stand off. He has no natural brain for a stand off. He has no kicking game. He's got no organisation skills. In fact I don't think he has one thing to suggest he'd be a ok 6.

| If last night proved anything, it is that Lance Hohaia is not a stand off. People saying that we would have won last week with him at 6 rather than Wilkin are crackers.
It says a lot when Wilkin is currently our best option at 6, so yes I would agree that there is no harm in playing Turner there when he is back fit.

| Yes, actually.
Long term, Percival and Jones should be our centres. Which leaves turner either a) at Salford b) in the reserves every week or c) finding a new position.
We might as well spend some time seeing if turner at 6 works ... I'd like to try him at 13 as well ...
With lomax, Walsh and Roby being our organising spine, we don't necessarily need an organising 6 to accompany them, so we might as well have someone whose got an eye for a gap, and will run on the shoulders of forwards all day long, and take on a bit of work. I can't see why turner couldn't do it,

| No thanks.
I think the main problem with Hohaia is that the poor bloke keeps getting dropped and has not had the chance to build a real working relationship with Walsh yet. Hohaia has had some good games alongside Walsh this season - as many on here have acknowledged - and had an excellent game against Leeds at LP before we started to slide.
The very last thing we should be looking for is to try and change someone's game mid season especially in such a crucial position. Brown should be doing the opposite. He should be developing the spine he now has, with Wheeler perhaps popping in now and again in the moments he is fit but only as back up as he is not reliable.
Let's also not forget that Hohaia scored a try and made one, with his 'poor' decision making, and was also on hand to tackle a lot too, something Turner is not so hot at doing.

I said before he put a saints jersey on he's not a stand off but he's more of one than Jordy.
Oh man, I carb believe it's even being thought of. I'd rather play with no stand off than Jordy there.

Totally agree!
We talk of people on here making a scapegoat of certain players but Hohaia is the ultimate scapegoat at saints. Never gets a good run. Constantly dropped when things don't go our way.
He played very well against Leeds at 6 but isn't allowed a good extended run.

He was handed a walk in by Walsh (which he did his best to drop) and should have laid on about 4 tries if he had half a brain. He was terrible.

You forgot about the try he made. How are you going to spin that negatively?
He was one of the few players last night actually alert to Walsh. Most of them were snoozing on their feet, especially in the second half.
And Hohaia was fundamental to setting up what was the try of the season for us IMO in the last minute of the game against Leeds at LP but let's forget about that and all the other positives he has brought to our side this season just so that you and a few others can have a stupid dig.
Walsh and Hohaia need to be allowed to build their partnership rather than messed about every bloody week by the tinkerman.

Walsh and whoever Brown feels should be the 6 need to play together. We can't keep swapping it between lance, wheeler, Wilkin and wello.
