| A report into the [iBloodgate[/i affair. Former player in both codes Adrian Hadley says blood capsules are "common knowledge" in rugby league and were often used when he played for Widnes and Salford.
In all honesty, I have never seen a player that had blood spurting from his head/mouth and thought that it was a put on. I'd like to think that although players sometimes do kid the ref at the play the ball etc., an injury in rugby league is an injury.

| Indeed, in Rugby League a player usually gets up and get's on with it unless a bone is broken. He doesn't spend ten minutes crying into a compact mirror.

| I cant think of any configuration of the bloodbin rule in Rugby League where a team would benifit from a player being sent to the blood bin.
It would either cost you an interchange or it just wouldnt be needed because of unlimited interchange.

Clearly this balanced piece of investigative journalism explained that the need in RL to act as such is now defunct as we introduced 12 subs, rather than just digging up some no-mark for a paid quote to fleetingly attract the attention of a knuckle dragging readership away from pages of tits?

its also very rare we would sub a kicker at anypoint in the game unless they where injured, which would be the only real reason that a trick like this would be used.

I object!! If I wanted to read a newspaper I would buy one, if I want to read a rag I'll buy one. You presume I am male looking at t!ts, a lesbian looking at t!ts and a knuckle dragger - nope I just like a light read on a Sunday morning.
Agreed I cannot see the benefit of anyone in league using a capsule. I read it as a "but they do it as well" quote to try and deflect from the shame of union.

Sorry, didn't mean to suggest you fit that description. I'll read similar papers at times for similar reasons, although I don't consider them worth spending money on.
My point was more about papers like the NOTW, etc don't really do stories like this any justice. They take a snappy angle and produce their line in an easily digestable line. Relatively harmless in most cases, but enough to convince many of their target readership that their line is the gospel. If you come across an story in a paper of this type on an issue that you actually know something about, chances are you can spot with ease the flaws in what they say, or at least other ways of looking at it.
