| A fishing article if I ever saw one. Who'd give that much of a toss if he came out with Warrington/Wigan/Leeds/St Helens will win SL? This pretty much sets things up for people to feel the need to comment.
I doubt he actually believes Salford will win it, despite the extensive recruitment drive.

| I think his real thoughts are above. The bit at the bottom is just a throw away comment.
I agree with the above, it would not even get mentioned on here unless he went with an outside bet.
I'm sure Salford will improve, but when I look at who they have brought in there is a sprinkling of talent, but there is also a fair sprinkling of players with better years behind them rather than in front.
I think they can make the top 8, but top 4 would be beyond them.

Whilst they have a long way to go, you could easily have said similar about Huddersfield 10 years ago.
If the Dr continually invests both on and, crucially, off the field I don't see why they can't be a threat in 10 years time.

| ...And Clarke's mission is now complete.
He's guaranteed himself comment and opinion. That's all it is.
Hey, he's going to be right one day, just probably not this season.

Fancy a wager on that?
Having been party to the many discussions which Marwan Koukash has held regarding Salford, I am more than confident we'll win Super League within the next 3-5 years. Look at the squad he has assembled in less than 12 months, it's easily top 8 quality. In many ways we were limited to which players were available for 2014 and despite paying transfer fees for Gareth Hock, Rangi Chase, Tim Smith and Harrison Hansen further quality will be added as players contracts expire in 2014, 2015 and beyond.
Both Koukash and Noble have been open about how recruitment for 2015 is already in motion and the calibre of players coming in is only going to improve as the realisation hits (if it hasnt already) that we mean business and are ready to achieve something major.
I cant tell you how different the club is from the one I supported 12 months ago, it really is like a new entity entirely. Where as previously we were training at Leigh Sports Village, we now have a dedicated state of the art training facility/gym within the stadium complete with a players lounge, Richard Hunwicks (formerly of Leeds Rhinos) has come on board as head of strength and conditioning, we have appointed Rob Artingstall (formerly of Sale Sharks) as physio and Sarah O'Neil is our lead soft tissue specialist. All these appointments and changes off the field have been as impressive as the ones on it.
I'm looking forward to little old Salford rattling a few cages in the forthcoming season and beyond.

Whilst stating that it wont happen in a lifetime is slightly daft, I think you 3-5 years is almost as daft in the opposite direction.
Unless the salary cap is scrapped and you can persuade 25 of the worlds best players to join the conquest, you ain't going to win in such a short timescale.
Ken Davy has pumped millions into Shudds over a lengthy period of time and he's just got hold of the LLS so you may need to look at 10 years and hope that Dr K remains committed.

Nothing's impossible, but you'd need a big slice of luck to pull this off to that timetable. Warrington's revival started around 2002. We moved into the new stadium and started making progress on the playing staff front in 2004. It still took us until 2009 to win the Challenge Cup, and we've still not won SL ( although coming as close to it as possible without winning ). I reckon ten years is much more realistic, and the fans need to accept that and stick with the growth of the club over an extended period. If they really expect top trophies quickly, they are likely to be disappointed and maybe desert the good ship Salford again.
