Anyone know if the new real ale and cider pub is open yet on the corner of sankey street and legh street?

When I went past on Sunday it still looked a way off being ready. Can't wait for it to open, it seems the town is finally getting some decent bars!

The place next door is fast becoming a favourite of mine, I keep meaning to try the Palmyra and the place on Springfield Street too. Baffitos via the Barley Mow for me tonight.

Not open yet - walked past it today and work still being done.

The Palmyra is a nice place to go to.

I believe that The Institute (the big building next to Parr Hall) is being fitted out for a restaurant and a bar.

I heard it was apartments

we love the bars in this area, don't tell everyone or else they will all start going!

Seems to have ground to a halt. Not seen much progress in the last few weeks.

Costello's in Stocky Heath isn't too bad. Decently priced, and good ale.

Should be some good ale.

Hasn't the Wilkie empire been a bit feeble over the last few years.

Wilkies Tavern is STILL "the ", though. GREAT ale

I don't get the obsession with real ale, it's warm, unrefreshing and smells like feet.

If I drink, I drink to alter my conscious state, who really drinks alcohol for the taste?
