| Sam has won player of the year for this just has he did in 2011 and 2012 I often wonder wonder was letting this player go just like others huge blunders by club  |

Listening to his podcast interviews it doesn’t sound like we had much choice. He’s the type of guy who needs change every so often and hand on heart if I was him and the chance to live, train and play in the South of France came up rather than Wigan I’d jump at the chance.
Shame he’s gone most definitely but he thoroughly deserves this award and he has to be nailed on MOS. Just has to be. Far and out the best player this season.

Supporters should be asking themselves why Sam Tomkins was so keen to leave Wigan so soon after coming back from down under.
Did he on his return, realise that things were not the same at the club following the departure of Wane and could see a situation of no success beginning to happen as a result of the financial situation which has led to a poorer standard and quality of the squad and made him decide that he needed to again get away from the club and obtain a better contract and lifestyle elsewhere.
Always has been a old head on young shoulders where his career and money is concerned, has Sam Tomkins!

I seem to remember hearing the French totally disregarded no-tampering deadlines and were on his case for a quite a while, offering all sorts, before he made his mind up to leave.

What are you going on about at all? We couldn't/wouldn't offer him as lucrative a contract as Catalans due to the tax breaks over there. I'll admit that I agreed with us not offering him silly money as at the time the decision was made he wasn't playing well and had a bad injury record. |

I agree re the south of France but the house he had on Lee's Lane was pretty nice as well (no, im not a stalker. I drove past on my home from work when he was selling it)
