I’ve been watching Trinity for forty odd years now.

When I was a teenager I was so distraught that Fev beat us fifty two nil, back in the day, I refused to go to school the next day as my school was predominantly Fev fans.

The loss to Cas pre S.L was embarrassing, & the Leeds debacle at home was annoying, not forgetting London away (Card Gate) – pathetic.

But as I meander towards my later years, today’s events seem irrelevant. But a little part of me thinks, that’s just not acceptable.

I remember a couple of years ago the Cas fans were so incensed by their teams lacklustre performance that the club gave something to the fans to acknowledge the teams pathetic attempt at entertainment. Many ridiculed it, but right now those poor saps that spent their hard-earned watching that deserve at least an apology.

No sign of it in Webster’s post match diatribe, maybe Carter will mention it in his radio slot?.

An apology the day after would be too late

it would be just an after thought, It should have been today from Webster
and it should have been his first words at press meeting.I don't think the fans matter anymore at Wakefield.

Webster didn't even come up with a line to the effect of 'that just isn't good enough' let alone an apology, just it was 'disappointing'. Well you ain't kidding it was pal. They should be refunding anyone who went out of their own pockets.

I thought it was a great effort to a couple of dozen of your fans today that actually stood there after the 80 minutes to applaud your players off..!

Nothing at all on club web site. Not even a match report. Not that we need one. If they do apologise i think they should look at backdating a few too.

I'd rather they spent their time trying to fix the issues.

This, I couldn't give a stuff about apologies. The best thing the players and coach can do to make it up to the supporters in general is to ensure it never happens again.

A good win on Friday will do me for starters.

To answer the op, yes.
Clearly, anyone who made the trip and supporters in general deserve an apology.
In not doing so, the team (and coach) are pretty much saying that it's ok to get stuffed by 80 points,
or that it's acceptable.
Even if the apology is tempered with other details ie. injuries etc, there should still be one.

Everybody knows that we are down on troops and struggling but, that performance can never be acceptable.

No it’s not, it’s an admission of a pathetic display, which is what it was.

I think we are becoming desensitised to heavy defeats, thirty or forty points, fair enough, but this was EIGHTY.

It’s the type of score line often seen when a top club plays an amateur team in the C.C.

Of course an apology doesn’t give you a warm feeling inside, but for someone at the club to acknowledge that performance was contemptible would be something at least.

Do think the fans aren't being considered at BV now - change in concession/student prices, taking beverages into ground. Now attitude of not worrying about first 23 rounds, but still expecting fans to spend their hard earned cash following the team. Michael Carter said last week he was taking a brwak from social media! Feel like taking a break from spending my cash.
