| Seen that they have announced there squad and while back division dont look too bad they look light in forwards but they only seem to have a 24 man squad so could be a lityke light in players

Leigh's problem is that there simply isn't much talent available. Plenty of good players in SL but nearly all are tied down, With transfer fees being a thing of the past it's hard to prise players away. Ditto, the NRL and reserve NRL etc no longer supplies players in the quantity they once did. All levels of Aussie RL are wealthier than ever and the exchange rate remains poor. It's interesting that many of the overseas players in SL hail from NZ or the Polynesian islands, places where the pound buys a lot more. Finally as has been mentioned before, a lot of championship players are not willing to go pro for a club that may only last one season in SL when they can often earn far more playing semi-pro and working.
I don't envy them.
The clubs I'm interested in are my key indicator clubs. HKR, Hudds and Salford, teams we are always pretty level with, in terms of wins and loses in recent years. Then Cas who may or may not be on the slide but are the one we measure ourselves against and then Leeds, a team we always seem to want to beat. If we can beat all those teams more often than not then pick up bits here and there we could finish in the play offs.
If we can't and we can't beat Leigh then we are in bother. We shall see.

| When you look at other squads Leigh are a step below.
We have to make sure we are in the pack above them. With the team we have we should be battling in the quite large mid table group but it's easy to be at the bottom of that group and down with Leigh if we don't perform.

Which fundamentally is what's happened in the last two years. I like you consider injuries to be the main factor in that but we can't blame it totally. IMO we also went off the boil at certain times, especially last year.

Think thats where i am at mo we do have some good players and a team more than capable but we havent seen this for 2 years and we are basically the same squas/team with maybe lino been the exception.hopfully we stay injury free ladt and poaching assist like ni doubt kear and MM did and we can have a good midtable funish but i cant deny i was somwhat a bit relieved when having a propoer look at leigh.

| When I read down the roster I was hugely underwhelmed. People saying their backs are decent but I thought they looked weak.
Russel is a failed SL player in my eyes and found his level at the league below.
Sau is 34 in a couple of months and while will do a decent job.
Lewis Tierney is the only back imo that’s good enough for superleague regularly and if I’m honest I was hoping we would sign him or burgess to replace BJB.
I mean you can’t write them off at all but you’d have to say they’re certainly lacking depth and quality in a number of key areas.

| I still expect to see plenty of movement before the start of the season and within the first month of the season, I think Leigh squad will look a lot different come March time but I agree with Vasty, doesn't seem to be much talent available at this moment in time.

There big hope is to fluke it and sign a bunch of players who are steady but crucially gel and with that get some team spirit. It’s what we usually do and it seems to work

I`m not sure, I think you might be judging too soon, with SL not starting until late March in reality in a normal timeline of a pre season we would be what late November/ December? I imagine they are talking to a few and they might yet pull together a decent team, they have the financial clout to throw some money at players, we know that.

| INOUTDon’t forget 80% of that team where already signed up when Leigh got the nod, some of those players probably wouldn’t have been offered terms if we knew what division we were in well before mid December. The only positive is we have loads of cap to spend and 3/4 quota spots. Another good thing is that all players are only on 1 year deals.

You're contradicting yourself. You agreed with me that there isn't much talent about, so with all the will in the world who are they going to sign? Look how we struggled to get Battye, a good signing but hardly marquee.
What they need to do is find are second chance players, they are the kind who grind out wins. If you get enough and perhaps 1 or 2 genuine quality players you can go a long way. I'm not dismissing Leigh at all, what I'm pointing out is the way to go, we Trinity fans no that road better than most.
So far Leigh seems to have avoided the trap of signing names like they did last time and shouting their moths off and sticking with some of the team that got them up, they are in with a shout if they stick with that mentality.
